Lifeworks on Retreat:
Recalibrating Capacity
How the Body Restores Clarity, Boundaries, and Sustainable Engagement
Nosara, Costa Rica
April 4th - 11th, 2026 | Open to all
Recalibrating Capacity, a week-long, bodyfull, retreat held at the beautiful Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort in Nosara, Costa Rica, hosted by Ilana Singer Siegal with Annie Trainor. Designed for people who carry responsibility, visibly or quietly, and want ways to keep going without relying on grit, over-functioning, or self-neglect.
This retreat is for those who care deeply about others (in their work or their lives), feel capable yet stretched thin, and want to prevent burnout rather than recover from it. It’s for people seeking steadiness rather than another thing to push through. Integrating analytical, intuitive and relational knowing using neuroscience and bodily knowing.
The focus is on learning to notice, listen, read and begin to understand your nervous system in real time; restoring clarity, choice, and sustainable boundaries. Participants will leave with simple, embodied tools and shared language to use—at home, at work, and in the moments that have, in the past, caused overwhelm, overwork, or collapse.
This practice is about recalibrating your capacity so presence, care, and responsibility become sustainable again. And space is made to experience life’s full-spectrum.
7-Night Retreat Stay Includes:
2 to 3 daily movement classes (yoga, body conditioning, and dance)
3 buffet-style meals per day (most dietary requests can be accommodated)
Infinity pool, spa treatments, luxurious resort amenities
5-minute shuttle or 10-minute walk to the beach
Plenty of free time to relax, reflect, explore and join offsite excursions
Space for self-reflection to deepen your journey
What this retreat means to us
We don’t believe people burn out because they lack resilience, commitment, or skill. When our nervous systems are asked to carry too much, for too long, without adequate recovery or support, we experience a habituated response that sometimes doesn’t feel like a choice. Our response is not just psychological, it’s physiological. Over time, capacity quietly erodes.
Our work starts from exactly where we are. By slowing down, using movement, rest, and attention practices to better access early-warning systems we notice our ability to have choices. When we are attuned to our own inner knowing, our wisdom, awareness, presence, and critical and creative thinking become our best assets to use to care for ourselves first and then to care for others.
The week is intentionally small and spacious. Days unfold through movement, rest, and attention practices, short and practical teaching blocks, and generous time for integration. We offer practices that reduce accumulated load, widen perceptual range, and restore choice. This isn’t about optimizing performance or fixing yourself. It’s about making care sustainable—so those who carry a lot can stay engaged, clear, and human without losing themselves in the process.
