Our LifeWorks Story & Mission

Ilana Head Shot Side Eye reverse.jpg

When she founded LifeWorks in 2013, Ilana Siegal envisioned a space that would be more than a yoga or dance studio.  She wanted a place where the community could come together, grow, explore movement, promote healing, and find wellbeing, in an affirming and welcoming environment.  Since 2013, Ilana has been focused on creating an environment that fosters the feeling that making your life work is possible, for each individual that comes to the studio.  Drawing on a long career in yoga, Pilates, dance, bodywork, and personal development, Ilana develops programs that integrate best practices in mind and body fitness and wellness.

At its heart, the mission of LifeWorks Studio is to bring a culture of radical (self) care to the Berkshires and provide a hub of support for individuals and families in the community.  In truth, our mission continues to grow and evolve daily, as we learn from and respond to the needs of the community.

LifeWorks Studio takes prides in welcoming all levels of ability and all members of the community. Supportive, accessible, and challenging for beginners through professionals. LifeWorks offers a variety of group yoga, dance, and strength building classes, special workshops, and private and semi-private yoga and yoga therapy sessions.  In addition, our community programs include a weekly parents group, Doula Collective, lending library of baby items, family connections events, and childbirth education.

LifeWorks is not your average boutique fitness studio. It’s not your average anything. The classes are exceptionally inspiring, the teachers are beyond knowledgeable, and fellow students are truly enthusiastic about what they’re doing and learning. No matter who they are or where they come from, everyone is made to feel genuinely welcome—and it’s impossible not to leave feeling upbeat, and wanting to come back for more.
